Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

At The Cliply ("we," "us," or "our"), we are deeply committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit our website at thecliply.com(the "Service").

By using The Cliply, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use our Service.

Our Core Privacy Promise: All file processing on The Cliply happens entirely in your web browser using client-side technology. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, never transmitted over the internet, and never stored or accessed by us or any third party. When you convert, compress, resize, or merge files on The Cliply, the processing occurs locally on your device using JavaScript and WebAssembly. We have no ability to see, read, or access the content of any files you process.

1. Information We Collect

We are committed to collecting the absolute minimum amount of data necessary to operate and improve our Service. The Cliply does not require user accounts, does not ask for personal information, and does not store any files you process.

1.1 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit The Cliply, certain information is collected automatically through analytics and advertising services:

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, time spent on pages, tools used, referral source, and general navigation patterns. This helps us understand which tools are most popular and how to improve the user experience.
  • Device Information: Browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, and device category (desktop, mobile, tablet). This helps us optimize our tools for the devices our users actually use.
  • Approximate Location: Country and city-level location derived from your IP address. We do not collect or store precise GPS coordinates.
  • IP Address: Your IP address may be temporarily processed by our analytics and advertising partners but is not stored by us directly.

1.2 Information We Do NOT Collect

To be absolutely clear, The Cliply does not collect:

  • Your files, images, documents, or any content you process
  • Personal identification information (names, email addresses, phone numbers)
  • Payment information or financial data
  • Social media profiles or account information
  • Contacts, calendars, or any data from your device beyond what your browser voluntarily provides

2. File Processing & Security

All file processing on The Cliply is 100% client-side. This means your files are processed entirely within your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly technologies. At no point are your files transmitted to any external server.

Here is how our client-side processing works:

  • When you select or drop a file into one of our tools, the file is read directly by your browser's File API.
  • The conversion, compression, or processing occurs entirely within your browser's memory using JavaScript engines and WebAssembly modules.
  • The processed result is generated locally and made available for download directly from your browser.
  • When you navigate away from the page or close the tab, all file data held in browser memory is automatically released and destroyed.
  • We have no server-side infrastructure for receiving, storing, or processing user files. There is no upload mechanism, no cloud storage, and no remote processing pipeline.

This architecture means your sensitive documents, personal photos, and private files are never exposed to the internet. Even if our servers were compromised, no user files could be accessed because they are never transmitted to us.

3. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

The Cliply uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for analytics and advertising purposes. Here is a transparent breakdown of the cookies used on our site:

3.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the basic functionality of the website. They do not collect personally identifiable information and cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.

3.2 Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous, aggregated data about page views, session duration, and user demographics. This data helps us improve our tools and user experience. Google Analytics may collect:

  • Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
  • How you arrived at our site (search engine, direct link, social media)
  • Your general geographic region
  • Your browser and device type

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

3.3 Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)

We display advertisements through Google AdSense to support the free operation of our Service. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history. Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to The Cliply and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.

3.4 Managing Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or alert you when a website tries to set a cookie. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features on our site.

4. Third-Party Services

The Cliply integrates with the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy governing the data it collects:

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties beyond the services listed above, which are necessary for the operation and monetization of our free Service.

5. Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal information or user files, there is minimal data to retain. Analytics data collected through Google Analytics is retained according to Google's data retention policies (typically 14 months for user-level data). We do not maintain our own databases of user information.

Any files you process through our tools exist only in your browser's memory during the active session. Once you close the tab, navigate away, or refresh the page, all file data is permanently deleted from memory.

6. Data Security

We take appropriate measures to protect the limited data we handle. Our website is served exclusively over HTTPS, ensuring that all communications between your browser and our servers are encrypted. Our client-side processing architecture is itself a security measure — by never transmitting your files, we eliminate the most significant privacy risk associated with online file tools.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

The Cliply does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Our Service is designed for general audiences and does not target children. Since we do not require account creation or collect personal data, the risk of inadvertently collecting children's information is minimal.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email address below. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information.

8. International Users

The Cliply is operated from the United States. If you are accessing our Service from outside the United States, please be aware that the limited analytics data we collect may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our third-party service providers operate.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on legitimate interest as the legal basis for processing the limited analytics data we collect, as it is necessary for the operation and improvement of our free Service. You have the right to opt out of analytics tracking using the methods described in Section 3 above.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your data, including:

  • Right to Access: Request information about the data we hold about you.
  • Right to Deletion: Request deletion of any personal data we may hold.
  • Right to Opt Out: Opt out of analytics tracking and personalized advertising as described above.
  • Right to Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

Since we collect minimal data and do not maintain user accounts, most data access or deletion requests can be fulfilled by clearing your browser cookies and opting out of Google Analytics. For any additional requests, please contact us using the information below.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.

Continued use of our Service after any modifications to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
